The Israeli attacks on villages along the southern border continued. An Israeli airstrike near the Fatima Gate in the town of Kafr Kila resulted in the injury and damage to military vehicles and rooms belonging to Lebanese army personnel.

Hezbollah responded to the attacks by targeting Israeli sites and soldiers, causing direct casualties.

Amidst looming diplomatic tensions between Lebanon and Cyprus over illegal migrants, the President of Cyprus, leading a ministerial delegation, is scheduled to make an official visit to Lebanon next Monday. Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Abdullah Bouhabib received the European Union Ambassador, Sandra Dauwald, stressing the need for a new and different approach to addressing the Syrian refugee crisis before its too late. He called for a comprehensive review through dialogue and cooperation with European partners and donor countries in preparation for the upcoming Brussels ministerial conference on Syrian refugees scheduled for the end of May.

Separately, the municipal elections in Mount Lebanon were scheduled for May 12, 2024.

Regionally, on the 182nd day of the Israeli war on Gaza, the army intensified its security measures by deploying forces around the Old City of Jerusalem and the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque. Patrols were conducted, and selective inspections targeting youth specifically were carried out.

On the political front, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu faced criticism from US President Joe Biden over the killing of foreign aid workers in Gaza and disregard for civilian safety, as well as the blocking of aid access. Israel began responding to US and international pressure by isolating military commanders in Gaza and considering allowing aid to flow into the territory.

Furthermore, the Israeli army dismissed the commander of the Nahal Brigade following the killing of aid workers from World Central Kitchen.

An incident of gunfire from inside Jordan towards the Israeli army at the Sheikh Hussein border crossing occurred. The force responded by firing approximately ten shots towards the source of the gunfire, and large Israeli forces rushed to the scene.

Iran renewed its threat to punish Israel during the funeral of seven officers killed in an airstrike on the Iranian embassy compound in Syria, suspected to have been carried out by Israel earlier this week.

In a separate context, the fifteenth batch of Palestinian wounded children and cancer patients arrived in the UAE.

The Permanent Representative of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations stated that 'the Arab Group calls for a decision under Chapter VII to ensure Israels compliance with the ceasefire in Gaza.'

Internationally, UN Secretary-General António Guterres expressed 'grave concern' over information indicating that the Israeli army is using artificial intelligence to target objectives in its war with Hamas.

The Kremlin condemned French President Emmanuel Macrons 'baseless' accusations of Russia targeting the Paris Olympic Games through a media disinformation campaign.

Former US President Donald Trump believes Israel is 'losing the messaging war' in Gaza due to the scenes broadcasted from the conflict zone, urging a swift resolution to the conflict.

Meanwhile, British Foreign Secretary David Cameron warned that Britain 'will hold Israel accountable' for the killing of three Britons among the seven aid workers in Gaza.

Economically, the Food and Agriculture Organizations (FAO) global food price index rose in March from its lowest level in three years, driven by increases in prices of vegetable oils, meats, and dairy products.
