The ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip for the forty-second consecutive day ignites the southern Lebanon front until further notice. Escalation prevails as Israel continues its incursions and shelling of villages near the border. In response, Hezbollah targets Israeli soldiers gatherings, artillery positions, and troop deployments in southern Kiryat Shmona with rocket and artillery fire.
With no significant developments in any of the local contentious files amid the paralysis caused by the public sector employees strike, Acting Minister of Finance Youssef Khalil affirmed to NBN that 'the available financial resources do not allow meeting all demands, and continued disruption threatens the public interest.'
Regarding retirees, Khalil stated, 'We are keen on restoring the dignity of living for all retirees who served the public interest gradually as financial capabilities are regained according to the recovery plan.'
On the domestic diplomatic front, the Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon, Walid Bukhari, visited the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, Supreme Head of the Syriac Orthodox Church Worldwide, Mar Ignatius Aphrem II, at its headquarters in Bkerke.

From the Lebanese deadlock to Gaza, despite rumors that the Paris talks have seen a positive breakthrough in reaching a new deal between Hamas and Israel, Hamas confirms that the atmosphere of optimism does not reflect reality, indicating that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu avoids responding to key demands, especially cessation of aggression, complete withdrawal, and return of displaced persons.
It is learned that the proposed framework transmitted to Hamas by the Egyptian and Qatari sides includes 'ten Palestinian prisoners for every Israeli prisoner, a ceasefire for about six weeks, further aid delivery, and a complete halt to military operations.'
Sources indicate that Hamas insists on the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, whether from the center or the north.
While some sources exaggerate their optimism about reaching a ceasefire agreement soon, other sources affirm until late last night that Hamas was still uninterested in any negotiations, and therefore, any talk of positives aims to buy time and divert attention from continuing massacres in Gaza.
Due to the secrecy of the negotiations, all possibilities remain open, awaiting announcements of either negotiation outcomes or the parties responses to these results.
Meanwhile, families of prisoners try to pressure for an immediate exchange deal by closing a street today in front of the Ministry of War building in Tel Aviv. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant commented on linking the prisoner agreement to the events at the Lebanese border, saying that anyone who believes that reaching an agreement to release hostages and temporarily halt the firing in Gaza will ease the escalation in the north is mistaken because any potential prisoner exchange agreement will not include confrontations with Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.
These negotiations boil amid fierce bombing threatening a humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. In the latest toll of this aggression, 'Health' in the sector announced an increase in the casualties of the Israeli war to 29,692 since October 7th.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army announced today, Sunday, the killing of a soldier from the Givati Brigade and the serious injury of an officer and two other soldiers during the ongoing battles south of the Gaza Strip.
Furthermore, Bloomberg reported that Israeli authorities temporarily suspended the extension of entry visas and work permits for employees of organizations providing humanitarian aid in Gaza and the West Bank. It noted that about 60% of humanitarian workers faced difficulties in extending visas in recent weeks.
In condemnations of the Israeli aggression, Jordans King Abdullah II warned, during his meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, of the continued war on Gaza during the blessed month of Ramadan, which will increase the risk of conflict expansion.

Moreover, The New York Times revealed, citing sources, that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has established a network of secret bases in Ukraine along the border with Russia over the past eight years.
In France, authorities reopened the Eiffel Tower to visitors today after its closure for six days due to a strike by workers demanding wage increases and restoration of the historical monument after it was affected by some rust effects.
