Additionally, amidst intermittent Israeli threats, an official in the Israeli army declared that 'escalation for the sake of calming down' is the way out of Hezbollahs trap.
Regionally, the Israeli army continued its campaign against Gaza for the 204th day, once again bombarding various areas of the strip. In parallel developments, the New York Times cited a prominent American official stating that if Israel launches a major operation in Rafah, President Joe Biden will consider restricting some arms sales to Israel.
Meanwhile, Hamas received the official Israeli response to its position submitted to Egyptian and Qatari mediators on the thirteenth of this month. The movement will study this proposal and deliver its response upon completion of the review.

Internationally, President Joe Biden stated that he will not rest 'until all the abducted held by Hamas are returned to their loved ones.' Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced that the State Department has found evidence confirming human rights violations by three units of the Israeli army.
Blinken added in a letter to the U.S. Senate that Washington is postponing a decision on whether to withhold military aid to one of the units.
On another front, investigations by U.S. intelligence agencies indicate that Russian President Vladimir Putin likely did not order the killing of political opposition figure Alexei Navalny in a prison in the Arctic Circle.
Furthermore, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued a fresh appeal for his country to be supplied with air defenses and weapons promptly following the Russian attack on the Ukrainian energy sector.
Zelensky stated that Kyiv needs sufficient quantities of air defenses and other weapons to protect its cities and prevail on the front line.
Economically, analysts noted that Russian wheat export prices have risen due to the impact of adverse weather conditions in the southern regions, along with price increases in global markets.
