Zain Jordan celebrates its 30th anniversary, marking three decades of achievements, contributions, and a continuous journey of innovation. Since its inception, the company has played a pivotal role in reshaping Jordan’s telecommunications sector, strengthening the Kingdom’s position as a regional hub for innovation and digital transformation, building exceptional digital infrastructure, and contributing significantly to the national economy as a strategic partner in Jordan’s development.

Since its launch in 1995 as Jordan’s first mobile operator, Zain has consistently modernized the telecom industry through a wide range of services. Starting with voice and SMS, the company expanded into broadband internet and introduced the latest technologies, including 5G, fiber-to-the-home (FTTH), fiber-to-the-business (FTTB), and fiber-to-the-room (FTTR) services. These offerings provide individuals of all age groups, and interests as well as enterprises of all sizes and industries, with tailored and innovative digital communication services and solutions.

In 2014, Zain became the first operator in Jordan to launch 4G services, reinforcing the Kingdom’s position on the global technology map and enhancing the experience of the kingdom’s largest subscriber base. Building on this momentum, Zain introduced 5G nearly three years ago, further upgrading its networks to deliver high quality voice and internet services that go beyond traditional telecom services, creating a complete experience of trust, quality, and innovation.

As part of its commitment to enabling digital transformation across all sectors, Zain introduced its “Zain Business” umbrella, delivering integrated solutions and services to both public and private enterprises. Its portfolio includes mobile and broadband packages, fiber connectivity, cloud computing, cybersecurity, Microsoft 365, UC and PTT services, alongside its regional data and disaster recovery center, The Bunker. Located at King Hussein Business Park in a 4,300 sqm area, The Bunker is the first of its kind in the region, accredited with the Uptime Institute’s Tier III Gold Certification for Operational Sustainability. The Bunker also earned the Middle East Excellence Award 2025 from Asian Business Review in recognition of its advanced technologies and world class cloud and digital solutions and services.

Zain has also been a pioneer in entrepreneurship and innovation. In 2014, Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania inaugurated Zain Innovation Campus (ZINC) during the MENA ICT Forum. Since then, ZINC has become a key enabler for startups, entrepreneurs, and creative youth, providing financial, logistical, and technical support through programs such as Zain Al-Mubadara program. Over the past decade, ZINC has supported more than 246 Jordanian startups, hosted over 6,000 events, and engaged more than 360,000 youth and entrepreneurs in partnership with 142 strategic organizations. Today, ZINC operates eight branches, five of them within Jordanian universities, further expanding its role in nurturing innovation and developing youth skills.

In 2020, the company launched Zain Esports Jo, strengthening Jordan’s position in the fast-growing eSports sector by organizing tournaments, sponsoring major events, and partnering with Jordan Esports Federation (JEF) to support national teams in international competitions. ZINC has also expanded with initiatives such as “Dezain Space”, which is dedicated to support local designers, further, Zain launched its own “Zain Studio”, which provides creative production services to empower entrepreneurs and startups in marketing their products.

Sustainability lies at the heart of Zain’s strategy. Zain has rolled out programs addressing environmental protection, climate change mitigation, biodiversity conservation, and resource efficiency, while also empowering women and youth, supporting education, healthcare, and sports, and contributing to reducing unemployment. Zain has been a pioneer in integrating people with disabilities into its workforce initiatives and services, while also supporting agriculture and food security through targeted projects.

Throughout its journey, Zain has been a leading sponsor of major national, cultural, and social events, including the annual Independence Day of Jordan celebrations attended by more than 70,000 citizens. The company has also established long-term partnerships with leading local and regional organizations.

In recognition of its contributions, Zain Jordan has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Silver Jubilee Medal and the Al Hussein Decoration for Distinguished Giving, both bestowed by His Majesty King Abdullah II. With more than 74 retail outlets across the Kingdom, Zain continues to deliver the highest service standards and remains close to its customers.

Today, after three decades of leadership, Zain Jordan reaffirms its commitment to driving innovation, enhancing Jordan’s digital infrastructure, and contributing to economic growth, while maintaining its role as a trusted partner for individuals, businesses, and institutions. With total investments exceeding 5 billion since its inception, Zain remains dedicated to strengthening Jordan’s position on the regional digital economy map and creating long-term value for the kingdom and its people.
